With their departure planned for sunrise, Scram and Zola say their goodbyes. Zola finds her father, a sweet and doting farmer named Gianni Parma, who is devastated to say farewell to his daughter at the town gates.

(And then Scram robs Dorphin Diddlepiss’ potion shop, disguised as Zola’s father. Sorry, Gianni.)

Zola then says goodbye to Prya, after offering one last time for her to come with them on their adventure. Though Prya rejects Zola’s offer, they share a sweet (and awkward) farewell kiss, both of their first’s (and somewhat ruined when Scram arrives disguised as Zola’s father).

Zola and Scram plan for the journey ahead of them, but their long rests are anything but restful, as both have strange dreams…

Scram dreams of the Shard he has been carrying, floating and shifting in a void, singing an apocalyptic warning:

Oh, behold the end,
See the past is now exiled.
Your life is the spark,
See the flames grow wild…

Meanwhile, Zola’s consciousness travels through what appears to be space, followed by a monstrous voice commanding her to R E T U R N !

She’s saved and led back to her sleepingbody by an odd but friendly green light, and when she awakes, she’s accompanied by her new, magical familiar: a small cow-pied weasel she names Stilton.
